Like some other Swiss spirits, the Dr. Ginger ginger liqueur from the canton of Zurich has established itself in Central Europe.
However, while most beverage start-ups from Switzerland are currently focusing more on gin, Patrick Stauffacher, Robin Schmanau and Blerton Gashi had the idea of creating a liqueur with ginger.
The bulb of the ginger plant is valued by more and more people due to its use as a kitchen spice or as an addition to various drinks such as tea or lemonade - this trend has not stopped at the spirits industry. The unmistakable aroma of ginger can be found in numerous gins, liqueurs and cocktail bitters, while countless mixed drinks are based on ginger beer or ginger ale.
Since 2017, Dr. Ginger made from purely natural ingredients, without the addition of chemicals or other additives, and made by hand under the strictest quality controls; just as the discerning clientele expects.
The liqueur can be drunk pure as a shot, refined with a dash of lemon, or drunk in various other long drinks and cocktails. The producers' recommendations consist of various combinations, such as beer, tonic water and crushed ice or gin, lime juice and angostura bitters.
The pungent flavors of Dr. Gingers are awakened by briefly shaking the bottle before pouring.
